My Best Friend

By Anna Vandergrift

Archie is a great dog. I didn’t want to train him at first because I wanted a bigger dog. When we found a puppy on the road, I started training it. We had to sell it because it ate chickens. I couldn’t stop training so I started training our pug (Archie). Archie turned out to be a great companion and obedience dog. I started training in 2003. I went to the state fair and received outstanding of the day in sub-novice that year. In 2004 I moved up to Novice A and got 3rd place at the state fair. After the state fair we concentrated on getting our Novice A title. Archie always tries to do the best for me despite the fact that he has a luxating patella (a disease in the hind legs) which is getting worse. Archie’s favorite spot is by my side; he’s my best friend.
