A Message from Mari-Beth O'Neill blue
Mari-Beth ONeill I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Reminders about the future deadlines for the AKC Eukanuba Junior Showmanship — please send in your official school transcripts if you are eligible.

The AKC Board of Directors approved a $10 transfer fee for a dog to include a Junior as an owner Please address these transfers to:

Good luck to the Juniors who are competing internationally this year in Agility: Kathleen Oswald & her Shetland Sheepdog, Heart Lake's On A Whim MXB MXJ “Whimzy”, will be travelling to Luxemburg in September to compete at the 2014 FCI Agility World Championship.

Kaitlyn Dreese and her Border Collie, MACH Wren's After the Catch XF. They were selected at Team tryouts in May and are one of 16 Large Dog teams going to compete at the FCI European Open in Hungary in July.

Claire O’Neil and her Keeshond, Ch. Windrift’s Right on the Money  AX, MXJ, OF, are competing at the Jr. European Open in Italy in July.

An Interview with former Junior and AKC Junior Scholarship recipient Zena Brenner.

Zena competed in AKC Junior Showmanship predominantly with her English Cocker Spaniel while eligible from 2000-2007. Upon graduation from High School, Zena obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Berkley and Cambridge University in the UK. Zena received her Masters degree in June from the University of Sydney in Austrlalia.  Zena was a multiple year AKC Junior Scholarship Recipient and English Cocker Spaniel Club and Saint Bernard Club of America Junior Scholarship Recipient. Zena is currently attending shows in the US and is an approved Junior Judge. While Studying in Australia, Zena has a position with the Guide Dogs of Sydney. The following interview was conducted at that time:

Emma Emtzger and Molly blue
Hi! My name is Emma. I am 14 years old and I love agility. I have been participating in agility for four years and competing for three. My Shetland Sheepdog, Molly, and I started in agility when we went to a camp where we were supposed to learn about how to care for our dog and how to do other things. Well, it ended up that agility was the only thing we were taught. It was a good thing that Molly and I liked it so much.
