Fetch Program Timeline

Key dates for the new AKC Fetch program:

October 2023

• Materials are posted on the AKC Fetch page. You can begin reviewing the modules:
  1. Overview of the program
  2. Setting Up AKC Fetch Courses (the test area)
  3. Judge and Participant Guide
  4. Videos of the tests in action – COMING SOON

• You can also set up Fetch classes and begin practicing for titles

December 4, 2023

• You can access the training and apply to become an AKC Fetch judge in AKC Canine College

January 2, 2024

• You can begin applying to hold AKC Fetch tests. AKC Fetch is an official event like a conformation show or obedience trial and judges/clubs will submit an Event Application. CGC Evaluators may also set up Fetch tests as long as they complete the training and submit an Event Application. Event applications must be submitted 1 month before the AKC Fetch tests.
• Remember that dogs must earn all 4 titles in order, so if you are offering Fetch testing in the early part of the year, you may want to only offer Novice testing.

February 2, 2024

• The first Fetch title tests will begin.
