  • Companion Events Representative – part time position

    This is a Part-Time position working 20 hours/week and there is some flexibility when establishing the schedule.

    Responsibilities include responding to customer inquiries, questions and complaints regarding regulations, including telephone contact and emails; resolving customer problems relating to Event Operations; and assisting all department management as necessary with research, correspondence and filing. This person also generates certificates and records Versatile Companion Dog program awards.
     
    Requirements include a high school diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of 6 months of office experience. Above average MS Word skills are needed along with average Excel skills. Good organizational skills and strong communication skills (verbal and written) are needed. Knowledge of AKC rules and programs is recommended, or the individual should be familiar with AKC obedience, agility, tracking and rally competition.

  • Executive Assistant for Chief Financial Officer

    We are seeking an Executive Assistant for our New York City Headquarters.

    This position performs high level responsibilities for the Chief Financial Officer.   Responsibilities include interacting with the Chairman, President, and Senior Management, as well as the Board of Directors. Other responsibilities include developing reports; composing and editing correspondence; maintaining the executive’s schedule; and acting as a liaison with the North Carolina office.  

    Qualified individuals will possess a minimum of five year’s executive administrative experience, preferably for a corporate executive; a college degree is preferred.  Above average computer skills using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required.  The successful individual will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and be a self-starter with a strong work ethic.

  • Recovery Coordinator for Companion Animal Recovery (CAR)

    • Part-time position: 20 to 25 hours/week
    • Hours:            Saturday:          10:00 am – 6:00 pm
    •                         Sunday:             10:00 am – 4:30 pm
    •                         Monday:             1:00 pm – 9:00 pm 

    Responsibilities include performing recoveries of animals lost and/or found through inquiries via telephone, fax, or email. Also enrolls animals and/or updates records sent from customers via mail, fax, or email. Takes sales calls from vets, shelters and breeders on our new AKC CAR Microchip.

    Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and up to 3 years of Customer Service experience. A pleasant and articulate telephone voice and manner are needed, and a compassionate, professional attitude is also required. Must be able to function under pressure and maintain composure. Sales experience and interest is helpful, and must have good listening skills to identify potential sales opportunities. Will use the internet and email and must have average word processing and spreadsheet skills plus some Access database skills. Needs flexibility with changing policies, procedures, and work schedules; will be on call from home on a rotating basis; and may work some limited overtime. We are open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day; overtime might be available as coverage is needed.

  • Product Manager for AKC Companion Animal Recovery (CAR)

    We are seeking a Product Manager for AKC Companion Animal Recovery (CAR)

    Responsibilities are to develop and manage product and service offerings to supplement and drive CAR microchip and enrollment sales to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.  Will identify and obtain new partner organizations to add value to CAR’s product portfolio, and develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners.  Will also develop and deliver sales and marketing strategy using existing and new channels.  Works cross-functionally with sales, marketing, IT and operations departments to launch new efforts and improve existing programs.

    Requirements include a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with an MBA preferred, and 4 to 7 years of product management experience. Need average skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software programs and uses email and the Internet. May need to work non-standard hours, with frequent overtime, and travel one or more overnight trips per month. Weekend work and travel are involved. Position may involve employee supervision.
