AKC Education consists of AKC Canine College, AKC Public Education, AKC Education Webinars, and Library and Archives. Each area plays an important role in achieving the mission and vision of AKC Education and in supporting the mission of American Kennel Club.

 

AKC Canine College is dedicated to creating quality online courses for judges, groomers, breeders, trainers and the general dog owning public.

Our goal is to provide a valuable supplemental online educational tool for all breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club. Judges and breed enthusiasts will be able to access these courses anytime, anywhere! The American Kennel Club commits to a collaborative relationship with the Parent Club of each breed to ensure that an accurate and premium experience is delivered to learners.

AKC Public Education offers programs that can be utilized by clubs to enrich their events and experiences. AKC Public Education also offers programs for children and adults that can be done at home, school or by community organizations.

The AKC maintains one of the largest libraries devoted to dogs in the world, containing approximately 15,000 volumes, and the only national repository dedicated to the sport and enjoyment of the purebred dog. It has been providing internal and external reference on all manners of dog-related inquiries since 1934.

The AKC Archives began in 1998 as a service to AKC national breed clubs. Since then, it has grown to include AKC Administrative records, and personal collections of prominent men and women in the sport.
