Small but mighty, short but fast, serious but also a goofball. There's just something wonderful about the juxtapositions that make up the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

If you own one we're sure you can relate. Here are ten things that only Pembroke Welsh Corgi owners will understand:

1. Your Pembroke engages in what is known as “frapping,” aka frantic random acts of play. Your dog will tire himself out running around in circles, dashing from room to room.

2. Your Pembroke turns heads. People lose their minds seeing a Pembroke Welsh Corgi in real life. You always have to stop on walks and listen to people obsess over how cute your dog's butt is.

3. As a Pembroke owner, you are constantly being asked “Will his legs get any longer?” or “Will she grow into her ears?” And you always have to educate people about the short legs and big ears of your dog (which are the cutest parts, of course).

4. Pembroke head-tilts are the best head tilts. Whenever your dog hears a strange sound, he's always tilting his head to hear the sound better. And with those big ears, there's not a cuter sight to be seen.

5. A lot of people see your dog's legs and ask you how on Earth he runs. Fast, you tell them. Even you are surprised at how fast your dog can run sometimes. After all, how else would Pembrokes manage to keep a herd of cattle in line?

6. If you're a Pembroke owner, you know your clothes show it. This double-coated breed sheds voluminously. In fact, the amount of hair this little dog sheds never ceases to amaze.

7. Your Pembroke has two favorite poses — sleeping on his back with all four legs in the air or flat on his belly with all four spread out.

8. This breed has a bottomless appetite. Although they don't grown taller, they can always grow wider, so you always have to be careful with what your dog is eating.

9. They say Corgis are like potato chips, you can't have just one. Pembrokes are a little addicting and chances are you'll want another after you've owned and loved one.

10. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a herder at heart. You're used to having your dog nudge you around and always trail on your heels. Your other pets and kids are no strangers to your Pembroke herding them.
