Promoting excellence in breeding through education and health testing, the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program is available to all breeders. There is no enrollment fee, and signing up is easy via the online application.
H.E.A.R.T stands for Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility, and Tradition.
Health: Breeders must meet specific health testing standards
Education: Breeders must participate in continuing education
Accountability: Breeders must comply with AKC Care and Conditions policy
Responsibility: Breeders must accept responsibility for the health and well-being of their puppies
Tradition: Breeders must breed purebred dogs that are happy and healthy

To apply you must have bred at least one AKC litter within the past five years and be in good standing with the AKC. Read the full list of requirements here
