Obedience Rankings

11/15/2023 – FAQ Obedience Rankings

Dear Obedience Enthusiasts: We are excited to announce an obedience ranking system for the regular class participants in the Novice, Open, and Utility classes, and OTCH titled dogs.

There will be two reports to view1) Overall Rankings, and 2) Breed Rankings.

These reports will be published twice a year.

  • Obedience: Novice, Open, Utility and OTCH Ranking Reports – Mid-Year 2023 (1/1/2023 – 6/30/2023)
    • To be posted at the end of July.
  • Obedience: Novice, Open, Utility, and OTCH Ranking Reports – Year End 2023 (1/1/2023 – 12/31/2023)
    • To be posted at the end of January of the new year.

The Novice, Open, and Utility class rankings will be for all dogs that were shown in the A and/or B classes, who have not earned the OTCH title.

The ranking statistics for Novice, Open, and Utility are determined by using cumulative totals of qualifying scores earned during the dates stated above. The OTCH ranking reports are for dogs who have earned the OTCH title and are determined by using cumulative totals of OTCH points earned during the dates stated above. For this ranking system, OTCH points will begin being calculated the day after the first OTCH title is earned.

It is exciting to see the new teams coming into the sport, taking part in the thrill of building a bond through obedience training. Our experienced exhibitors continue to inspire us, and we enjoy sharing their repeated joys and successes.

To be in these rankings is quite an achievement that represents many hours of dedication and hard work on the part of the dog and handler. Your commitment to creating a well-behaved partner who can excel in obedience competition is admirable.

Congratulations to all and thank you for the continued support of AKC Obedience!

You guys ROCK!
