Last week, Montgomery County conducted a public hearing on a measure to license and regulate home-based breeders and establish many new requirements for breeders in the county. The County Executive has until next week to determine whether to sign, amend, or veto the proposal.
Thanks to the many breeders and dog owners who contacted the county and attended the hearing, the County Executive has expressed a desire to listen to concerns and consider changes.
A decision on the proposal could be made any day. Dog owners and breeders who reside or participate in events in Montgomery County are strongly urged to contact the County Executive again TODAY and express your concerns with the proposal.
