The New York Senate is expected to vote any day on a bill that would allow companion animals on all commuter transportation (including railroads, ferries, buses, etc.) during states of emergency, so long as certain requirements are met.
NY residents are encouraged to contact their State Senator and ask them to support Senate Bill 3321, which would allow dog owners the ability to ensure the safety of their pets during emergency situations.
Visit the Legislative Action Center and type your address in the “Find Your Elected Officials” box to get the name and contact information for your State Senator. A full list of Senators can be found here.
Read AKC’s previous Legislative Alert for more information on this bill.
