The Nevada Senate Natural Resources Committee is considering Assembly Bill 86 in a hearing on May 16. The bill has already passed unanimously out of the state Assembly. AKC is asking for your help in supporting this reasonable cruelty bill that contains several AKC amendments as it makes its way through the state Senate.

Summary:

Assembly Bill 86 updates state animal cruelty laws in a thoughtful and measured way that eschews one-size-fits-all mandates. The AKC has been working with the bill’s sponsor, Assemblywoman Melissa Hardy, and other stakeholders to ensure that both animals and responsible animal owners are protected. We thank Assemblymember Hardy for her willingness to work with us. The AKC supports this bill as written.
