The City of Montgomery, Alabama, posted a public notice that the Montgomery City Council’s Ad Hoc Committee— Animal Ordinance will meet on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11:30am in the Old Council Chamber, Room 142, City Hall, 103 North Perry Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.

Please note that nearby Prattville recently significantly expanded that city’s animal ordinance. Activists have announced they are targeting other cities in Alabama for the introduction of restrictive and possibly overreaching animal control laws.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Animal owners in Montgomery are urged to attend the committee meeting to seek information about what may be proposed and to become involved in the process of crafting reasonable laws.
Residents are also encouraged to contact their City Council members with questions about any animal ordinance proposals.
