A resolution is scheduled to be considered tomorrow in Maryland that would declare an annual K9 Veterans Day. The AKC is proud to support this bill, whose stated purpose is to honor federal, state, and local law enforcement K9 Corps units and “their service to protect our communities, state, and country.”
The resolution, House Bill 1216, will be considered tomorrow (Tuesday, March 15) in the House Health and Government Operations Committee. Maryland residents are encouraged to do the following:
- Contact the House Health and Government Operations Committee and respectfully ask them to support House Bill 1216. A full committee roster may be found here.
- Contact your State Delegate and let them know you support House Bill 1216. Visit the Legislative Action Center at www.akcgr.org and type your address in the “Find Your Elected Officials” box to find the name and contact information for your State Delegate.
- Contact Delegate Mark Chang of Anne Arundel County and thank him for sponsoring this resolution. If you are a constituent, be sure to mention that when contacting him. E-mail him at Mark.Chang@house.state.md.us or use the online form.
