On Friday, these bills were amended to exempt certain field trials including field trials in dog training areas, so long as no game are killed. However, the bills would still prevent hunt tests and hunting activities in the state.
The bills remain in their respective Environmental Conservation committees, and no additional action has been taken. At this time, no hearings are scheduled.
AKC continues to watch these and all New York bills impacting dog owners, breeders, and sportsmen, and will provide updates if necessary. For additional questions, contact AKC Government Relations at email@example.com.
