The Connecticut Dog Federation reports that the Joint Committee on Insurance and Real Estate will consider S117 on Thursday, February 26th. The bill prohibits insurers from establishing homeowners' or renters' insurance rates based on the policy holder's breed of dog.
The American Kennel Club believes that insurance companies should determine coverage of a dog-owning household based on the dog's deeds, not the dog's breed. Legislation like S117 helps protect families from having to give up their canine companion due to exhorbitant premiums or an outright denial of coverage. Your help is needed to pass this important bill!
What You Can Do:
Contact the Joint Committee on Insurance and Real Estate and ask them to support S117.
