At their bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 10, the Kern County Board of Supervisors will formally receive the recommendation from the Animal Services Commission that includes proposed amendments to the Kern County Ordinance Code establishing additional animal regulations—including what AKC Government Relations (AKC GR) considers to be mandatory spay/neuter. No action or votes will be taken at this meeting. For more information, view AKC GR’s most recent alert on the subject here.

No action is required right now. AKC GR will continue to work with officials in Kern County and will let you know when your participation is needed. AKC GR again thanks all who took the time to comment on this proposal. Your involvement in this lengthy process continues to help ensure that the final proposal includes the voices of responsible dog owners.
