The Boone County (IN) Board of Commissioners postponed a vote on a bill that would mandate the spaying and neutering of all dogs owned by county residents by the year 2020.
Thanks to your efforts, the Board of Commissioners recognized there were still issues with the bill that needed to be reviewed and investigated. The AKC wishes to thank everyone for your calls and emails.
The bill is expected to be reconsidered within the next few months. AKC Government Relations and the Indiana Purebred Dog Alliance are closely monitoring this proposal and will provide a further update as we receive it. For questions or more information, contact AKC GR at doglaw@akc.org.
