The Ohio House of Representatives Economic Development, Commerce, and Labor Committee is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Tuesday, November 28, on a bill that would allow dogs in outdoor eating establishments, with permission from the business owner.
The AKC supports House Bill 263, as it allows responsible dog owners more opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and socialization with their well-behaved pets, while allowing individual businesses to decide whether they want to allow dogs. The bill also prohibits the state from establishing a law that prevents businesses from making their own decision on this issue.
Ohio residents are encouraged to contact the Ohio House of Representatives Economic Development, Commerce, and Labor Committee prior to the hearing on Tuesday, November 28 at 1:30 pm and ask the members to support HB263.
