The American Kennel Club Government Relations Department (AKC GR) has become aware that starting March 1, 2019, Delta Airlines will be embargo kennels traveling as cargo above the 300 series or custom crates over 24 inches high. According to the airline, this embargo has been established due to structural and safety concerns with larger-size crates.
AKC GR has and will continue to reach out directly with this airline and others to seek viable solutions to enable owners to ship dogs by air safely and reliably.
