AKC Government Relations (AKC GR) has just learned that California AB 485, the pet sales restrictions bill, has been rescheduled for consideration by the Senate Business, Professions, and Economic Development Committee.  Originally, the bill was scheduled for consideration by that committee on Monday, June 26, but has been rescheduled for consideration on Monday, July 17.

The delay provides an excellent opportunity for you to take a moment now to contact your legislator with your concerns about this harmful measure.

AKC GR thanks the Dog Owners of the Golden State (DOGS), one of our four California federations, for reporting this update.  AKC GR will continue to provide updates on CA AB 485 as developments warrant; however, we continue to encourage all California breeders, owners, fanciers, and enthusiasts to contact the members of the Senate Business, Professions, and Economic Development Committee and express opposition to AB 485.  For more information, contact AKC GR at doglaw@akc.org.
