Poodle Club of America Junior Education

What’s up With the Poodle Club of America Juniors?

Well…They are up to learning and achieving and experiencing and forming great friendships with poodles in tow!

This year at PCA there were 9 entries in Conformation as well as 2 entries in Obedience and Agility.  Congratulations to EVERY Junior who was able to attend, experience and enjoy!

There was pizza and professionals and competition, fun and prizes. We would like to give a big shout out and thanks to Purina for their donation of the Ringside Chair, the grooming/ goodie bags, and to Pet Agree for the donation of the Force Dryer for Best Junior.

Ms. Patricia Proctor, AKC Executive Field Rep, spoke during the Junior’s Pizza Luncheon about the impact of Social Media on our Sport.   A topic our Juniors totally get.   Social Media is how they communicate, and Ms. Proctor reminded them, that before commenting, ask themselves, “Is it kind?  Is it necessary?  Is it true? Does it add to the conversation or improve on the silence?”  It’s inspiring to observe these young people with their strong social responsibility, their growth in the sport, and in our breed.

Emily Walker was Junior High in Trial Obedience and Junior High in Trial Rally with her poodle.  What a TEAM you guys are!

Best Junior at the 2018 PCA National Specialty was Melony Lopez with her mini, Spencer. It was her premier focus and goal to end her time as a Junior, and when Judge Dr Donald Sturz, Jr. pointed to her, Mel and Spencer knew they had achieved it!   Many congratulations to all Juniors attending PCA showing and placing with your poodles.
