On August 2-4, 2024 the 2025 FCI European Open was hosted by The Kennel Club in the UK. This year there were over 700 entries from 30 different countries. 32 dogs and handlers travelled to the UK to represent the American Kennel Club and the USA at this prestigious event.
Team USA did not disappoint they came home with MANY top 20 placements in the different rounds of the event, including two placements in the individual rounds for Team Classes. Bob Daigle and Blew Bayou WON (!!) the Team Agility Intermediate Round, while Perry Dewitt and her Genuine were 3rd in the Team Jumping Large Round.
In the Team events two Teams earned their way to the Team Relay Final event: USA Silvers Going for Gold (Coos, Pre, Sundae, Skye) who ended up taking 2nd place in the Small Dog Relay and Next in Flight (Liri, Navi, Vanish, Zula) who took 6th in the Intermediate Dog Relay. Our Small Dog Team medal is quite a historic accomplishment, not just because we brought home silver, but it marks the first time Team USA has earned a Team Medal with a handler running two dogs within the Team. Laura Dolan handled her amazing poodles Coos and Pre, not just to several clean runs on Friday and Saturday, but also had to run two legs of the actual Team Final Relay, one with each dog. Her Teammates, put in a spectacular performance as well, and it was a very proud moment for the USA.
Team USA received the opportunity to provide a White Dog Team for Large dog Team Relay Final, so Team USA Seize the Day with Love (Scenic, Cosmo, Ruckus and since Genuine who would be running in later finals, she was replaced by Believe), gave it their all and really put in a phenomenal effort with only two faults (contact & bar), and an awesome time on a challenging course.
Finally, a huge congratulations to Team Coach, Annette Alfonso and Assistant Coach, Sheyla Gutierrez for all the many hours they spent starting with team tryouts, to well designed practices and the coaching of the team at the 2024 FCI European Open. Success starts at the top!

- 1/18/2024 – 2025 EOTT ANNOUNCEMENT! The European Open Team Tryouts will be held at B & D Creekside Activity Center in Latrobe, PA. The dates will be February 28th – March 2nd, 2025. This event will select the team that will travel to the European Open in Portugal in July 2025.
