Ready to register your mixed breed dog or other dog not eligible for AKC Purebred Registration in the AKC Canine Partners Program? It’s easy to enroll — and before you know it, you and your dog will be able to participate in some of our most popular dog sports, earn title recognition, sign up for our lost dog recovery service, and more.
Step 1: Double check that your dog is not eligible for AKC Registration status by reviewing our official list of dog breeds.
Step 2: Also make sure your dog is not currently eligible for AKC Foundation Stock Service Program or an AKC Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL). He must also be spayed or neutered, and not a wolf hybrid.
Once enrolled, you and your dog can then start participating in some of our most popular events: Agility, AKC Rally®, Obedience, Tracking, AKC Scent Work, Coursing Ability, and FAST CAT tests. Your dog can also have fun earning AKC Canine Good Citizen and AKC Trick Dog titles.
To prepare for an event, we recommend finding an AKC Club near you that holds training classes. There are many training classes to choose from based on experience levels.
Once you and your dog are ready to compete, simply search for an event here. Agility competitors will also need an AKC Agility Height Card so please contact your local club for a measuring clinic schedule.
