The American Kennel Club (AKC®) is pleased to announce that Octavia Stensen with her Norwegian Buhund GCHB CH Cultiva Cruisin For A Bruisin was awarded the coveted title of Best Junior Handler along with a $5,000 scholarship. The Junior Showmanship competition, for handlers between 9 to 18 years of age, was held for the 23rd year at the AKC® National Championship Presented by Royal Canin on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. Preliminaries were judged by Jennie Hynes and Kasey O’Brien.
Junior handlers must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 or equivalent for the September 2022 – June 2023 school year in order to compete. Scholarships from the American Kennel Club were awarded as follows: First – $5,000; Second – $4,000; Third – $3,000; Fourth – $2,000.
