Five people and four dogs were asleep in Arkansas when a fire broke out in the Cash house. Luckily, one of the four dogs, a German Shepherd named Duke, was there to save his family.

Duke, who is 20-years-old, went through the house and aroused everyone, making sure they made it out safely. He was the last one out of the house and suffered minor burns, reports KNWA.

“[Duke] came in barking barking barking, freaking out, going door to door, huffing and puffing and through all the smoke,” Joseph Cash told KNWA.

Unfortunately, the family lost their home to the fire when it occurred back in April, but their lives were saved, thanks to Duke.

Now, they are looking to the future, searching for a home with a big backyard for Duke.
