Every season is the right time for dog training but spring and summer, when the weather inspires owners to spend more time with their dogs, is a particularly good time to get busy with training that helps to make their relationship even better.

One of the things you can do to make their journey even better is to encourage them to enroll their puppies in the AKC GoodDog Helpline service at registration. You are there for your puppy buyers, but AKC GoodDog Helpline trainers are available seven days a week – the Helpline is open 12 hours a day Monday-Friday (9 AM to 9 PM EST) and 6 hours on Saturdays and Sundays (noon to 6 PM). This makes it easy for them to get excellent training advice every day for a full year.

We can help with all the basic puppy training questions regarding housetraining (the most common issue), mouthing, chewing, basic obedience, bringing puppies into homes with older dogs, socialization, and more. Additionally, our trainers have many years of experience training, breeding, and competing in dog sports and conformation, and can steer buyers who are interested in dog sports in the right direction.

AKC GoodDog Helpline trainers adhere to the same dog training method of positive reinforcement, so all advice is based on the same theory. Records of each call are logged and kept available to all trainers, so any trainer answering a call will know what the owner’s previous call was about and what advice was given.

The best way for your puppy buyers to get the AKC GoodDog Helpline is at registration, when they can purchase the service at a discount – $45.99 for a full year instead of the regular price of $79.99. Buyers who do not enroll at the time of registration may contact us at akcgooddoghelpline@akc.org.
