If you plan to be at the American Kennel Club National Championship, make sure to stop by the AKC Government Relations/PAC Booth to participate in AKC PAC promotions. We’re pleased to be bringing acclaimed caricature artist Rafael Diez back to the show this year! For a donation of $35, you can get a caricature of you and your dog on a special AKC National Championship holiday ornament for a memory that will last for years to come. Caricatures on a custom ornament are a great memento of your participation at the event this year and also make great gifts for the special dog lovers in your life.

Caricatures will be available at the AKC GR/PAC booth at the Orange County Convention Center on:

Friday, December 16                   1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, December 17              10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday, December 18                 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you would like to make a reservation in advance, please email Patty Van Sicklen at PVS@akc.org .

It’s already time to start thinking about 2023 legislation sessions. A great way to make sure you are ready is to join us for the 2023 AKC Government Relations Legislative Conference, January 21-22 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Learn from AKC Government Relations and other experts about the latest trends, strategies, and tips for community outreach and legislative success. Find out how you can get involved, improve outcomes and inspire others to join the cause. Space is limited. Club and federation members can register here.

Attending the conference and learning as much as you can about strategies to protect our rights is vital for our right to own, breed, and exhibit our dogs is under attack by animal rights extremists. Some of this year’s important topics include:

  • Updated Tips, Tools and Resources for Successful Legislative Advocacy

Even if you can’t make it to Raleigh, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us, we’re here to be a resource for you. If you hear of troublesome canine legislation in your local community or an event  you’d like us to participate in virtually or in person, please let us know.

Wishing you all the best for a wonderful holiday season.
