Sheila says of Daisy: “I am delighted to be returning to Orlando for the Obedience Classic. Daisy is a little yellow lab mix who came to Minnesota from a shelter in Louisiana when she was 5 months old. So, I call her Delta Daisy. A co-worker adopted her and then decided a puppy was too much for their family. She was going to return Daisy to the humane society that night. But I said, ‘Bring her over to my house, and I’ll see how she gets along with my dogs.’ So, Daisy arrived that evening with her proverbial baggage: leash, crate, food – she was home!
“I love my little dog. I have trained both mixes and purebreds to seven Utility titles and two OTCH titles. When I look at a dog, I don’t see ‘rescue’ or ‘purebred,’ I see a loving companion who wants to learn and please me and go on this great obedience adventure together. Daisy is sweet and serious and so receptive to my moods, it is almost scary! Thank you, AKC, for admitting the All Americans to your sports and for promoting our little mix-breed friends.”
