Jesse Belle was 4 months old when Cindy adopted her and still, at 13 ½ years old, she continues to add titles to an already-impressive resume. The pair will be competing this week in their first Rally National at the 2022 AKC Rally National Championship in Wilmington, OH, and JesseBelle will be the oldest dog to compete there. “Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?” Cindy asked.

Jesse Belle earned her PACH on September 17, 2021. Cindy retired her from agility then but wanted to continue to be active with her in a low impact dog sport. She thought Rally would be a good fit to try first.

“We enrolled in the Virtual Rally program during the pandemic shutdown and Jesse Belle took to it right away,” Cindy said. “I really didn’t think she was going to be focused, much less wanting to heel by my side; after all she was an agility Champion and there is no heeling in agility. But, to my surprise she was focused, eager to learn and boy did she catch on fast. It made me happy to see her happy with such enthusiasm. She continues to amaze me,” Cindy said.

She has been competing in Rally trials a little over a year, has already received her RAE, and is coming in strong to receiving her RACH.

“I hope this gives dog sport handlers of senior dogs inspiration to stay active with them.”
