Jacy is Denise’s first agility dog. She is a spunky little dog who will do just about anything for a treat, though her favorite pastime is sleeping in the sun. The pair started taking agility classes for fun when Jacy was 4 months old. Eight years and eleven months later she earned her PACH. They overcame many challenges along the way including two-and-a-half years of refusing the teeter.
In 2016 Jacy came down with a mystery Illness that almost claimed her life. She was hospitalized for a week after suffering continuous strokes, requiring emergency phlebotomies, and surgery to remove her spleen. Denise was told to prepare for the worst, and that if Jacy did make it she might only have a couple years. Jacy pulled through but was left with permanent kidney damage and deformed toenails as a result of the treatment.
In October 2016 Jacy returned to agility, now running preferred 12”. And exactly two years later at the same trial she earned her PACH. “Jacy is now almost 10 years old, her health is stable, and she loves running agility more than ever,” said Denise.
Jacy earned her PACH on Oct 26th, 2018 in Covington, LA at the Swamp Dog trial (Swamp Dog Agility Club of Greater New Orleans). Denise is a member of this club.
