I was looking to buy a new pup the other day. The breed has a hard coat that goes from smooth to wire. I mentioned that my female was very smooth and without “furnishings” and I was corrected to that being called “trim”.

When embarking on creating education for better detection dogs we must have a common language. Often, the language we use is jargon or vernacular which might have wide variances. For working detection dogs we are very fortunate that someone has worked through a great deal of the terminology both from a practical and scientific stand point.
