American Kennel Club Companion Animal Recovery (AKC-CAR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Richey as Director of AKC-CAR. AKC-CAR was founded in 1995 to help reunite lost pets with their owners by providing 24-hour recovery services for microchipped and tattooed pets.

Richey brings a wealth of experience in operations management and the sport of purebred dogs to her new position. She has been with the AKC since 1996 and has served successfully in a number of director positions. Her most recent assignment has been as Director of Performance & Agility Operations.

Prior to joining the AKC, Richey was actively involved in the sport as a breeder, exhibitor, judge, and a member of the Delaware Ohio Kennel Club (DOKC). She has served as Show Chairperson for a number of all breed dog shows for the DOKC.

Sue's background and experience at AKC and as a breeder, exhibitor and judge make her ideally suited to this challenging position, said Dr. Carmen Battaglia, president, AKC-CAR. With increased numbers of microchipped animals entering AKC-CAR's database each year, we were looking for a professional with strong leadership skills and we have found those qualities in Sue.
