“I used to live in California and have friends there.  One friend fosters dogs for a local rescue group and she was instrumental in finding Minnie for me,” Rosemary said.

Minnie had been a stray and was picked up and taken to the San Bernardino Animal Shelter, a busy shelter that can only keep dogs for 10 days.

Rosemary’s friend spotted the year-old dog and saw that she was friendly and took her into rescue.

“She must have belonged to someone who cared because she does tricks and is trained to sit, stay, wait and more. She is a wonderful dog,” Rosemary said.

Since she was so well-mannered and loved people, Rosemary started taking Minnie with her to art shows and festivals. Then she decided to put the little dog’s talents to work.

Minnie now wears a sign that states “Please buy a painting.” She greets customers and even does some tricks.

Rosemary says Minnie is the best sales “person” that she could have ever found.

Minnie is a member of the AKC Canine Partners program for all dogs, including rescues and mixed-breeds.
