MACH My Little Maddie MXB MJS owned by Marion Kasch of Hanover Park, IL

“When I met Maddie at an adoption event, she never took her eyes off of me. She knew she was meant to be my dog,“ Marion says.

After adopting Maddie, Marion discovered that her new canine companion liked to keep busy.

“Maddie loved getting out of the house but walking around the block was so boring for her,” Marion said.

She put Maddie into training to give her a job and then they heard about agility in which dogs run an obstacle course.

“After taking many obedience classes, we decided to give agility a try… Maddie was a natural and was very patient with me as I struggled to learn. I never planned on competing but as we became a team, Maddie gave me the confidence to try.”

Marion and Maddie made a great team and have had a very successful AKC Agility competition career. Maddie earned the highest honor in AKC Agility – the Master Agility Championship (MACH) – on Feb. 16, 2014, at the Stone City Kennel Club trial in Plainfield, IL.

Maddie’s favorite pastimes when not doing agility are chasing squirrels, lying in the sun, and running in the woods.

Maddie competes in AKC Agility through the AKC Canine Partners program for all dogs, including mixed-breeds and rescues. For information on joining the AKC Canine Partners community look here.
