The Roberts Center in Wilmington, Ohio was bustling with obedient dogs on June 18 and 19, with two days of competition in this year’s AKC National Obedience Championship. It all came down to one champion: Golden Retriever “Baker” NOC OTCH13 High Times Shake ‘N Bake UDX8 OGM SH, handled by Korin Bevis of Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

Baker and Bevis also won the 2022 AKC National Obedience Championship, as well as this year’s Masters Obedience Championship at Westminster.

Sunday’s competition started with different exercises in eight rings to narrow down the 160 teams to the 50 that competed on Monday. These 50 teams were narrowed down to the top 20, with top 10 placings and the Champion announced on Monday night.

Third Place: Shetland Sheepdog “Kylee” (CH OTCH4 MACH2 Aratone’s Royal Keepsake UDX5 OM8 VER MXS MJS), handled by Vicky Gillow of Mebane, North Carolina.

Fourth Place: Golden Retreiver “Juicy” (NOC OTCH11 High Times Totally Sauced UDX9 PCD OGM SH), handled by Sharri Sibert of Schoolcarft, Michigan.

Fifth Place: Border Collie “Zuko” (OTCH4 MACH RACH Bolser Zuko You’re The One UDX4 OM8 RM2 RAE2 HSAd HSBd HXAd HXBd MXB MJB MFB TQX T2B2), handled by Kimberly Berkley of Caseyville, Illinois.

Sixth Place: German Shorthaired Pointer “Wyatt” (GCHG CH OTCH7 Voyager’s Perfect Partner VCD2 UDX9 OGM BN GN GO VER RE MH AX NF THD CGC TKA), handled by Belinda Venner of Saline, Michigan.

Seventh Place: Labrador Retriever “Zayna” (OTCH5 Quantum’s She’s Red Hot UDX4 OM7), handled by Petra Ford of Washington, New Jersey.

Eighth Place: Border Collie “Gio” (OTCH7 Wildfire Anything Goes UDX6 OGM BN RN), handled by Robyn Magee of Chestertown, Maryland.

Ninth Place: Golden Retriever “Maya” (OTCH Mirasol’s Owl About A Dream VCD2 UDX3 OM5 BN RA JH AX AXJ NF CGC TKI), handled by Joanne Dalby of Prior Lake, Minnesota.

Tenth Place: Golden Retriever “Razz” (OTCH Audeo’s Road To Razzmatazz UDX2 OM3 BN ), handled by Louise Bastien of Rigaud Canada, Quebec.
