The AKC Agility League recently concluded its 10th season of competition and honored its top teams and competitors. The AKC Agility League is sponsored by Purina Pro Plan.
Team champions were named in each of the 10 divisions. In addition, the League introduced a new award for the Most Improved Teams and Dogs in each division.
The Overall Most Improved Team for Season 10 is the Barky Brigade of Idaho. The team competes in Limited Elementary and is captained by Ariel Agenbroad. The Overall Most Improved Dog for Season 10 is Piper, an All American Dog handled by Amos Gingerich. Piper competed on the Limited Freshman team ACT Fur Fun in Alaska.
“The League is all about training and getting better, and we are happy to reward teams that are meeting that goal,” said Penny Leigh, Director of the AKC Agility League.
The League offers three 12-week long seasons a year. Teams, composed of three to eight dogs, run six courses each season. There are three field/ring size divisions: Extended (100 X 100 min.); Regulation (70 X 100 min.); and Limited (50 X 70 min.). And there are five skill levels: Ph.D. (international); Senior (Masters/Excellent); Sophomore (Open); Freshman (Novice); and Elementary (Pre-Novice).
