On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 9am, the House Ways and Means Committee will consider the Amended HB 532, concerning amended animal records database language.  The changes made by the House Environment and Agriculture Committee in Amended HB 532 address the concerns raised by AKC Government Relations (AKC GR) and New Hampshire Dog Owners of the Granite State (NH DOGS).

AKC GR’s prior alert listing those concerns can be viewed here.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:  It is imperative that New Hampshire residents immediately contact the House Ways and Means Committee to register your strong support of Amended HB 532.  First, click here to visit the House Remote Sign In site.  Second, select March 10, 2021, on the calendar.  Third, choose the House Ways and Means Committee and check HB 532.  Last, register your name and contact information in support.  (No verbal testimony is necessary at this time.)  Thank you!

Note: A problematic version of the animal records database language, which appears in Part II of SB 127, is still under consideration by the Senate.  Click here to read AKC GR’s February 17 alert, which explains why the amended version of HB 532 has AKC GR and NH DOGS’ support instead of SB 127.

For more information on these or other legislative issues in New Hampshire, contact AKC’s Government Relations Department at 919-816-3720 or doglaw@akc.org; or the Dog Owners of the Granite State at dogs.nh@gmail.com.
