Senate Bill 204 seeks to designate the Treeing Walker Coonhound as the official state dog of Kentucky. The bill recognizes that the Treeing Walker Coonhound is a native Kentucky dog breed developed in the 1800s by two Kentucky breeders. Kentucky dog lovers are urged to contact their state senators and representatives and ask them to co-sponsor SB 204.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) thanks Senator Robin Webb for sponsoring SB 204.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:  Contact your Kentucky state senator and ask them to co-sponsor Senate Bill 204. To find out who represents you, click here to Find Your Legislator.

AND:  For SB 204 to advance, the Senate Committee on Agriculture must first vote in favor of the bill. Therefore, you may also wish to contact committee members and ask them to “vote in favor of Senate Bill 204.”
