House File 2190 – Updating Dog Ownership Laws
HF 2190, drafted with input from the AKC and some Iowa kennel clubs, provides reasonable and important updates to verify dog ownership, and requires shelters to scan a dog for a microchip upon arrival in order to quickly locate the owner if possible. Read AKC’s previous alert for more details.
