AKC Government Relations has recently learned that the Northglenn City Council passed a new ordinance limiting residents to a total of 4 dogs or cats (or both) in order to address nuisance concerns.

Residents of Northglenn currently owning more than four dogs/cats must disclose this to the city prior to August 1, 2025, to ensure that you may keep your current pets.

The limit does not apply to dogs under 6 months old from the same litter, assuming the dam is kept at the residence.

To qualify for the exemption, visit www.northglenn.org/petreport and submit each pet’s name, age, sex, breed, and the date you acquired the animals.  Be sure to complete the form by August 1 in order to be in compliance and receive the exemption.

View the official city notice for more information.
