Kimberly Berkley of Caseyville, Illinois, has taken home yet another title in Obedience with her Border Collies. On May 11 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Berkley and her seven-year-old Border Collie, “Zayne,” were crowned the 2024 Westminster Masters Obedience winner. Part of Westminster Week, the 9th Annual Masters Obedience Championship at Westminster, Sponsored by Purina Pro Plan, kicks off four days of competitions in Obedience, Agility, Dock Diving, Conformation, and Junior Showmanship.
They’re no strangers to taking home the top spots in dog sports. In December at the 2023 American Kennel Club National Championship in Orlando, Florida, Berkley and Zayne took home the top spot at the 10th Annual American Kennel Club Obedience Classic.
Berkley’s Top Dogs
Berkley and Zayne have been consistent competitors in Obedience and AKC Rally the past few years, along with another of her Border Collies, four-year-old “Zuko,” who is Zayne’s son.
Where Zayne placed first in the 2023 AKC Obedience Classic, Zuko placed fourth, also in the Masters class. At the 2023 AKC National Obedience Championship, Zayne took home second place, and Zuko took home fifth.
At the 2023 AKC Rally National Championship in Wilmington, Ohio, Zayne placed in the top spot, with Zuko in the number two spot. Zayne also won the Rally National Championship in 2022.
