Think of an AKC Rally® event as any team sport: You and your dog navigate, side-by-side, through a course of 10-20 different signs. The signs indicate a skill for your dog to perform, like sit or down. You and your dog move continuously throughout the course with a clear sense of teamwork. Rally is about working happily together while performing the necessary skills. RACH Sheller’s Piper RM4 RAE2 RC OA OAJ FCAT4 ACT2 ACT1J PSD CGC TKE VHMA VSWE FITG owned by Ruth Sheller of Mt. Airy, MD
Piper was picked up as a stray puppy by a rescue and transported to Maryland where she found her home with Ruth and Tony Sheller, in 2018. She immediately took to her training classes, earned her CGC, and now enjoys participating in several sports, including rally.
Piper is Ruth’s Novice A dog – her first sport dog – and the two of them learned all about rally together. Piper brings her happy spirit and sense of fun when she is competing and sometimes likes to add some extra flair of her own. She likes to do rally fast, and quick times have brought her success at trials.
Ruth and Piper earned their RACH title on March 15, 2026, at the Dog Owners’ Training Club of Maryland trial.
RACH Mauka RM2 RAE2 FDC CGC owned by Eileen Wood of Edgewood, NM
Mauka, an Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog mix, was adopted from a local dog rescue at 8 weeks of age. Eileen adopted his brother first, but when she picked him up, it left Mauka the last puppy there. She had not planned on getting two puppies but couldn’t get him out of her mind after she got home, so she went back for him. “Best decision ever!” Eileen said. They live on a cattle ranch in central New Mexico.
They started rally when Mauka was approximately 3 years old and have earned all of his titles close to home. He has qualified for the RNC for the last six years. They were able to make the trip and compete in 2023. Mauka earned his Rally Champion (RACH) title on May 29, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. “He is a joy and a treasured family member!”
RACH Onix Aurelius Calderon RM4 RAE2 RC FDC BCAT THDN CGCA CGCU TKN ATT FITG owned by Miguel Calderon & Brenley Perez of Lubbock, TX
Onix is a 9 year old Australian Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix. As a puppy, he was happy with little training and a lot of love to give. “After meeting my wife and her well trained dogs, I was inspired to begin Onix’s training in order to have a stronger relationship with him,” Miguel said. They started with CGC and it took off from there. Miguel and Onix trained to become a therapy dog team for Lubbock ISD where he made an impact with hundreds of students. When Onix turned 7, their rally journey began. “He is my Novice A dog and getting a RACH was not in our sights, but we did it as a team and I couldn’t be prouder of him,” Miguel said.
Onix earned his RACH on April 17, 2026, at the Lone Star Dog Obedience Club trial in Bonham, TX.

Stella came into Lauren’s life an anxious, timid 8-month-old puppy from the county shelter. A trainer encouraged Lauren to explore dog sports, giving them a shared goal while helping build Stella’s confidence and channel her energy. “Today, you would never guess she was once fearful,” Lauren said. “She is outgoing, confident, and eager to take on every challenge.”
“Stella is my Novice A dog, but more importantly, she is the dog who changed my life.” Through their journey together, Lauren found an incredible, supportive community and a renewed sense of purpose. She and Stella earned the RACH on March 7, 2026, at the Wilmington Kennel Club trial in Newark, DE under judge Laura Rixham. Lauren is excited to finish the last leg of Stella’s UD title and begin competing in Scent Work, continuing their remarkable journey.
RACH Osa Murphy BN RM3 RAE2 RC FDC DCAT CGCA CGCU TKN ATT VHMA FITG owned by Jennifer Murphy of Woodlands, TX
Osa was a graduation gift to Jennifer, who never imagined the world she would be introduced to. Right out of college, Jennifer signed up for an obedience training class for fun. They enjoyed it so much that one class became another. Along the way, Jennifer rediscovered a love of learning she had missed since graduating.
Their partnership has taken them to many places. Osa has acted in a commercial, traveled the U.S., and competed in the 2025 AKC Rally National Championship. She earned her Rally Champion title on Jennifer’s birthday, March 8, 2026, at the Houston Obedience Training Dog Club, where they first discovered dog sports.
“When she’s not performing, Osa is dreaming about treats, long walks, squirrels, and more treats,” Jennifer said.
RACH Kizzy Waffles CD BN RM3 RAE2 MX AXJ CA FCAT ACT1 DS DJ CGCA CGCU TKN ATT FITS owned by Judith Jackwood of Wooster, OH
Kizzy, a border collie/cattle dog mix, was adopted from the Wayne County Humane Society of Wooster, OH in September 2019. She was about 16 weeks old and from a litter of four puppies that were at the shelter. “I wanted a dog to do agility with but Kizzy had other ideas,” Judith said. She started taking Kizzy to classes at Hy-Bar Training. She liked the obedience and rally classes better than agility. Judith had never worked with a dog in either sport so she learned a lot. She entered some rally trials and they got qualifying scores so just kept going. Kizzy earned her RACH on January 31, 2026.
In addition to rally, Kizzy has earned titles in obedience, agility, Fast CAT, and dock diving – about 30 titles so far. “Neither of us is perfect, but I have learned so much and had so much fun because of her and I love her dearly.”
RACH Amber Boo RM3 RAE2 RC CGC TKN owned by Don & Kim Morrell of Vacaville, CA
Amber was born August 9, 2023, and became a member of the Morrell family shortly thereafter. She excelled in formal obedience training, so Don decided to train for rally and she loved it. Their first rally trial was on November 21, 2024, and by May 2025, she had earned her Rally Master title. She has received her Rally Choice, RAE2, and RM3 titles.
On May 30, 2026, Don and Amber competed in rally trials in Lodi, California, hosted by the San Joaquin Kennel Club. They showed under the same judge they had at their first rally event. It was an exciting and memorable day — Amber earned her RACH and was awarded the Highest Triple with a score of 300 and the Highest Combined with a score of 200.
RACH Walter London BN RM3 RAE3 RC THDN CGC STR owned by Carolann London of Staten Island, NY
Walter, Carolann’s Novice A dog, earned his RACH on April 12, 2026, at the Staten Island Companion Dog Training Club trial.
They began training to become a therapy team when Walter was a few months old. His intelligence, focus, and willingness to work were obvious to Carolann. Once he passed his therapy dog test, she thought their formal training days were over – until she was convinced to try rally.
Walter has proven himself to be an exceptional competitor. His rally titles were earned quickly and he completed his RACH with 20 QQQs and 42 perfect scores in just eight months. They went on to win second place in Master at the 2026 AKC Rally National Championship in Wilmington, OH.
“The best part is that Walter loves training and competing,” Carolann said. “He’s just as happy to step into the ring as he is to play tug or fetch my slippers on request. He’s a wonderful partner both in competition and in everyday life.”
RACH Reilly’s Griffaniel RM3 RAE2 BCAT owned by Cassie Ryan of West Haven, CT
For Cassie, Griffin is the ultimate adventure buddy, as well as a rally star. He loves hiking all over New England, taking a swim in the ocean, or putting on an intricate trick performance for a single piece of cheese. “He is an all-around loving, goofy guy but put a FastCAT trash bunny in front of him and watch out – he gets right down to business,” Cassie said. “He truly is a jack of all trades, go everywhere type of dog, and may be the world’s best cuddler.”
Griffin has made quite a name for himself in rally, ranking #3 All American Dog in Rally Master for 2025. He earned his RACH on April 18, 2026, at the Sleeping Giant Agility Club trial in Hamden CT, under judge Celeste Mead-Maurer.
RACH Mandy Lu RM5 RAE4 RC NA BCAT ACT1 ACT1J RATN CGC TKA ATT FITB owned by Greta Kasten of Hanover, NM
When a friend suggested Greta look at a puppy from “a bad situation,” neither of them knew it was the start of something great. Greta was looking for a hiking buddy, and the match was perfect. Appropriately named Mandy, which means “worthy of love,” this All American Dog quickly proved she was worthy of much more.
Their transition from trails to trials began when a local dog group introduced them to dog sports. For Greta, who once won national titles showing horses, rally was love at first sight. She felt like she was horse showing again, just with a canine partner.
The road to the top was paved with both brilliance and comedy. More than once, Mandy decided she must step outside the ring to greet family. The elusive Master points kept them on their toes. They became the “Queens of the 89s and 90s” earning that frustratingly close score time and time again as they chased the RACH. Mandy and Greta earned the RACH title at the Rio Grande Obedience Dog Club trial in El Paso, TX in April 2026. It was on the same weekend and held by the same club as their first trial years before.
Greta’s Novice A, All American Dog Mandy was no longer just a hiking buddy — she was now a Rally Champion, proving that a dog from a “bad situation” is capable of reaching the highest heights.
