A special Master Hunter Excellent (MHX) Test, hosted by the Westminster Kennel Club and the AKC Performance Events Department took place on November 4-5, 2023 in Oxford, NC.  This event was the first Master Hunter Excellent test to be held and consisted of two series, one each day.

The purpose of this MHX test is to recognize the most accomplished dogs in the Pointing Breed Hunting Test program. The MHX dog is expected to consistently give a finished performance. This MHX test consists of two series.  A dog must demonstrate its consistency by passing both series in order to pass the MHX test.

A special thank you to the Westminster Kennel Club for hosting such a wonderful event. Thank you to all who made this event possible and congratulations to those that earned two qualifying scores each day in each series.

Remember a dog must qualify in both Series 1 and Series 2 of a Master Hunter Excellent Test in order to earn one qualifying leg towards the MHX title.

Congratulations to those that passed both series and earned their first leg towards a MHX title at the the first Master Hunter Excellent Test!
