The team of She Shed’s SuperSonics won the largest League class of Regulation Senior for the Fall 2025 Agility League season – a honor that they have held for the past three seasons! In addition, they have placed in that class at the AKC Agility League Championships for the past two years. This is a large team with eight members and several different breeds. They run and have fun together in Tennessee, and their Captain Kevin Bottoms tells us more:
Team Name: She Shed’s SuperSonics
Division/Skill Level: Regulation Senior
Facility Name & Location: Chicken Creek Agility, Frankewing, TN
Where do you run – Indoors on turf
How was this team formed?
The SuperSonics were formed in the Fall of 2023 (Season 5) after having such a great time competing at the first Agility League Championship on a smaller team. I contacted a friend and fellow local dog club member Sheri and asked if we could form a team at her private facility and she was all for it! All the original handlers of that team will still be competing in the next season of League although some of those original dogs like Argyll the Lab, Journey the Boxer, and Winnie the Boston Terrier have since retired. Agility League really helped keep those older dogs competing even though their trialing days were wrapping up. But many new dogs and handlers have joined the now four different She Shed teams!
The Season 11 SuperSonics members were:
- Jennifer Yates – Fate the Border Collie
- Jacqulene Kehoe – Wylie the All American
- Jane Snider – Skylar the Papillon
- Jean Lavalley – Ladybug the Shetland Sheepdog
- Butch Norckauer – Gigi the American Water Spaniel
- Frank Ferraiuolo – Mattie the Border Collie
- Lindsey Barrows – Kit Kat the Papillon
- Sheri Fastenrath – BonBon the German Shorthaired Pointer
- Kevin Bottoms – Captain
How did you come up with your team name?
Well, we had to have She Shed in all our team names because that’s what Sheri’s training facility is called. There’s even a fun She Shed sign on the wall. So, we all came up with lots of team name options and took a vote, and SuperSonics won out in hopes that we’d represent that team name with some speed along the way.
What are some secrets to your team’s success?
First off, we treat the four She Shed teams as all one big team and support each and offer training advice to get the most out of our runs. Throughout all the teams, our members run, trial, and train together so we know what our dogs are capable of – if we as handlers do the best job we can. Everyone is open to suggestions and critiques to improve our times and handling. We try hard to get the best scores we can, but at the end of the day we are all there to have fun with our dogs and teammates. So, we’d still be doing League rather we’re in first place or last.
Anything else you want to add about your group?
We love having special League days. Just this past weekend a lot of us got together to run the Invitationals Finals course together at the She Shed. We had a great time cheering each other on through such a fun and challenging course like that. And snacks were had!
League has brought a lot of us together. Some of us who originally may have only been acquaintances, we’ve become true friends. We go out to dinner together when at out of town agility trials; we celebrate our accomplishments together; and we even do non-dog stuff together!
