The American Kennel Club (AKC®), a not-for-profit organization, the world’s largest purebred dog registry and leading advocate for dogs, is excited to announce that AKC Fastest Dogs USA is set to premiere on ESPN2 on June 14th at 1:30pm ET.

This invitational event was held on May 1, 2025, at Fort Stewart, GA as part of AKC Salutes the Troops, a celebration of canine athleticism and tribute to the Army’s 250th anniversary. The June 14th broadcast date coincides with the United States Army’s founding, as well as Flag Day. Top dogs of the fastest breeds were invited to race head-to-head to see which will be crowned the Fastest Dog and win a cash prize.

The event will also showcase three of America’s favorite breeds – Dachshunds, Belgian Malinois and Pembroke Welsh Corgis – racing against each other to see who is the fastest in each breed.

“These are some of the fastest dogs in the country, and it’s breathtaking watching them do what they do best,” said Gina M. DiNardo, AKC President and CEO. “ESPN viewers are in for a weekend of thrilling competitions.”

The AKC Fastest Dogs USA broadcast will be hosted by noted sportscaster Carolyn Manno with analysis by Jason Rigler and sideline reporting by AKC’s Bill Ellis.

Additionally, the AKC National Agility Championship presented by Tractor Supply will premiere the following day, June 15th on ESPN2 at 12pm ET. The 2025 AKC National Agility Championship took place March 14th through March 16th at the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex at Expo Square in Tulsa, OK. The AKC National Agility Championship broadcast will also be hosted by Carolyn Manno with analysis by Carrie DeYoung and sideline reporting by ESPN’s Phil Murphy.
