The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce that Gregory McCarthy of Avon, Massachusetts has been hired as an Executive Field Representative in Conformation. He starts effective May 2021 and will cover the Pacific Northwest territory.
“Gregory has been involved in AKC dog sports since 1979 and certainly possesses the level of expertise that we seek in Executive Field Representatives,” said Patricia Proctor, Field Director, Conformation. “We are thrilled to welcome him as a member of the AKC Staff.”
For several decades, McCarthy has owned and bred many English Setter and Gordon Setter AKC Champions. As a longtime exhibitor, McCarthy’s resume consists of numerous Best in Shows, National Specialty wins and Obedience titles.
Mr. McCarthy had a successful career in banking, working his way up to Senior Compliance Analyst at Bank of America. In addition to his impressive track record in the AKC world, McCarthy also shows horses and volunteers at the Boston Living Center and Big Brother/Big Sister community. He has dedicated the last 40 plus years of his life to the welfare and advancement of purebred dogs and will now be embarking on this new journey as an AKC Executive Field Representative.
