New York, NY – The American Kennel Club announced today the appointment of Michael Basone to Vice President of Technology. Basone will enter the new, New York-based role on February 23, 2015.
Basone brings with him 20 years of experience and leadership in technology management. Prior to joining the AKC, Basone founded High Ground Group, Inc., a technology and consulting services company focused on technical strategy and website/mobile application development. Earlier roles include President of Weightwatchers Online, CTO of Weightwatchers Intl. for over a decade and Director of Systems for Pepsi Cola International.
As VP of Tech, Basone will be responsible for driving AKC’s digital transformation, discovering technology efficiencies across all departments and creating an agile, nimble framework that will benefit our customers. Basone will report to Dennis Sprung, President and CEO.
