The American Kennel Club (AKC) announced today the promotion of four individuals in its Information Services Department:

  • Dale Garside has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Information Services, and interim Chief Information Officer. Dale has been with the AKC for 17 years. Dale was originally brought on as a developer where he was instrumental in the development of the mainframe Registration system. Later Dale was promoted to Director of Software Development, where he led a group of 20 developers maintaining and enhancing AKC software. In his new role, he will coordinate the efforts of the software development group and the systems group to achieve their goals of enhancing and expanding AKC's information systems presence.
     

  • Mark Way has been promoted to Director of Software Development. He has also been at AKC for 17 years and will manage and set direction for the development group, supporting all software systems utilized by AKC.
     

  • William Adams has been promoted to Principal Software Engineer. William will manage and coordinate the activities of the development team assigned to primarily Registration issues. This is his seventh year at AKC.
     

  • Jeff Lemmons has been promoted to Principal Software Engineer. He will manage and coordinate the activities of the development team assigned primarily to CMS, AKC's database containing event information. He has been with the company for 15 years.

“These promotions are one of the results of our commitment to focus on providing quality services to the users of our systems and allowing them to drive the process, said AKC's Chief Operating Officer Dennis B. Sprung. Our goal is to improve the processes for breeders, judges, Delegates, clubs and exhibitors as well as AKC's own staff.”
