The AKC Detection Dog Task Force (DDTF) has exciting plans for 2023!
We are initiating a move into Phase 3 of the Patriotic Puppy Program. Phase 3 will include further recruitment of AKC hobby breeders, puppy raisers and trainers while extending new invitations to small and medium-size training kennels and a new division for industry leaders. AKC DDTF and PPP team members will be recruiting mentors across the country to assist newcomers to PPP in their own geographic area. Plus, plans are underway for more regional, one-day, hands-on training seminars. Be on the lookout for invitations!
In other exciting news, we are in the process of building out our website to showcase patriotic puppy program graduate and breeder trainer affiliates. The site will tell the stories of individual graduates and their breeders and trainers, and display information about dogs that are available for purchase, along with their training, kennel information, photos, and a video link of the dog working.
