Meet Colonel Charles Beckwith RN THDD CGCA owned by Kevin & Kathi Zornes of Lucasville, OH
Beck has earned the AKC Therapy Dog – Distinguished title for making more than 400 visits to help others!
Beck is a Beagle/English Setter mix whom Kevin and Kathi adopted in February 2010. “With a sweet yet fun personality, he passed therapy dog certification in July 2011,” Kathi said. “His work in his community includes visiting nursing homes as a therapy dog and providing tail waggin’ tutoring at the public library and elementary schools. He also has done AKC dog safety presentations, attended camps for Girl Scouts and been at special meetings for autistic children, as just a small sampling of what he does. He shakes, gives ‘High 5,’ digs, and can even read books back to the kids as part of his talented therapy dog demonstration.”
Beck also attends children’s’ parties for Russell D Williams American Legion Auxiliary Unit 471 in Portsmouth, OH. “At now 4 1/2 years old, Beck has earned all five AKC therapy dog titles as well as many others. He has 14 titles and counting currently, but he is best known as the beloved therapy dog of southern Ohio.”
